Demolition of the existing industrial and commercial buildings and the construction of 154 mixed tenure residential units, plus basement car parking and ground floor commercial space.
The 154 units comprise - 98 private units and 56 affordable units, including social rented and intermediate tenure.
The scheme is a single, curved block ranging from six to nine storeys in height. There is a central communal courtyard on a podium deck, including a glazed atrium providing light into the commercial space on the ground floor.
A construction challenge has been the need to decant the existing buildings in two separate stages to accommodate the land purchase timetable, which incorporated a delayed commencement date for the second portion of the site.
All of the residential units will achieve Code for Sustainable Homes 'Level 3', Lifetime Homes and Secured by Design standards. Renewable energy features include solar panels, ground source heat pumps and green roofs.
