Kings Crescent Estate, Hackney has received a highly commended award for Best High Volume New Housing Development at this year’s LABC Building Excellence Awards.
The awards celebrate achievements for building excellence in the construction industry and rewards outstanding construction and workmanship.

We worked closely with all our partners to deliver a scheme that will genuinely make a difference to people’s lives who live on the estate, not only in terms of bricks and mortar, but also through employment and training opportunities.”
More than 450 guests attended the award ceremony at the Guildhall in the City of London including representatives from the 15 winning and six highly commended projects.
LABC's Chief Executive Paul Everall said, "The awards are an opportunity for us to celebrate some of the very best in construction in England and Wales, recognising the high level of quality and skill we can and do reach in the UK."
Higgins Construction has recently completed the first phase for the Kings Crescent Estate for Hackney Council. It comprises 158 private sale properties, which have funded the delivery of the rest of the scheme with 79 new social rent homes, 36 Shared Ownership and the renovation of 101 existing properties to beyond Decent Homes Standard. In addition £3.7 million has been invested in the public realm.
