Sutherland Road, Walthamstow and Bourne Estate in Clerkenwell, EC1 have been shortlisted in this year’s Housing Design Awards.
The awards aim to reward skill and innovation within the housing sector and are the only awards promoted by all five major architectural professional institutions.

The winners of the Housing Design Awards will be announced in 2nd July.
Sutherland Road comprised the demolition of existing industrial units and the design and construction of 52 flats, seven houses and a health care centre in multiple blocks for mixed tenure. In addition there was shared communal gardens and provision for parking.
Bourne Estate is made up of a number of Grade II Listed buildings and is partially within the Hatton Garden Conservation Area. The project included the demolition and re-provision of 75 mixed tenure homes, replacement community facilities, an energy centre, substation, refuse, cycle and caretaker's facilities, together with associated landscape and public realm improvement works. This includes the relocation and re-provision of an existing multi-use games area (MUGA), children’s play space and the relocation and reorganisation of car parking within the site.
