St Bernard’s Gate, the £50 million development for Catalyst Housing Limited on land south of St Bernard’s Hospital in Ealing, has been shortlisted for Best Residential (rural/suburban) at this year’s Inside Housing Awards.

Higgins Construction was appointed for the demolition and design and build of 270 new homes as well a small retail unit on the 5.6 acre site. The development includes five buildings containing flats and a bowling green pavilion and the re-siting of an electricity substation.

Paul Cooke, New Business Director at Higgins Construction comments, “We are delighted that our work with Catalyst has been recognised and shorted listed for an Inside Housing Award. We are extremely proud of the scheme and hope it is successful on the night.”

St Bernard’s Gate provides a tenure mix of private sale, shared ownership and affordable and social rent. In addition to the new homes, a Grade II listed gatehouse has been refurbished to create a new retail unit.

The award ceremony takes place on 23rd November.
