A project manager working for Higgins Construction on its Thomas Road site in Mile End has been recognised for his efforts by being awarded an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award.
Tony Maguire, who has been with Higgins Construction for 11 years, was selected for the work he has carried out on the new scheme which will provide 64 high quality affordable homes.
Paul Cooke, New Business Director for Higgins Construction commented, “We are delighted that Tony has been recognised for all his hard work over the past year. We pride ourselves on the highest standards in terms of quality and safety across all our sites and this award demonstrates Tony’s commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
“The Pride in the Job Awards is a highly respected award within the industry and winning one is a great achievement, particularly given the tough competition in the London region.”
Pride in the Job is the house-building industry's most prestigious awards programme. Running for 36 years, Pride in the Job is dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building.
All site managers running a site with a home or homes that are registered for NHBC Buildmark cover, are automatically entered into the competition. There are categories for smaller, independent builders as well as the medium, large and specialist high rise developers.
Pride in the Job winners always have one thing in common - meticulous and consistent attention to detail. To win, they must score highly for the quality of workmanship on their site at every stage of the build. They must also demonstrate excellent leadership, technical expertise, robust health and safety processes and a certain 'X' factor!
Tony Maguire comments, “I am delighted to have won this award. Pride in the Job Awards are like the Oscars for site managers and it is a real honour to have been recognised in this way.”
Mehban Chowdery for NHBC, the UK’s leading standards setter and warranty provider for new homes, said: “Congratulations to Tony, who should be commended for building homes of an outstanding standard in the region.
“For 36 years, Pride in the Job Awards has played a pivotal role in NHBC’s work to raise standards across the industry through the celebration and sharing of best practice.
“Pride in the Job recognises site managers who produce the best quality new homes, built and finished to the highest possible standards. Most importantly, homeowners who buy a Pride in the Job award-winning home benefit from a high quality product.
“It’s no surprise that our data shows Pride in the Job winning sites have higher levels of customer satisfaction, as these homes are without doubt among the best the UK has to offer.
“On behalf of everyone at NHBC, I would like to congratulate Tony on this fantastic achievement.”
Later on this year the winners of the 'quality' award will be given the opportunity to compete for a more coveted NHBC Seal of Excellence prize.
