Higgins Construction and Pinnacle PSG have taken the Excellence in Contractor Engagement award at this year’s Southern Region Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) Awards for their innovative education, training and employment programme at Myatts Field North in the London Borough of Lambeth.

The TPAS Awards honour excellence in tenant involvement, celebrating the very best tenants, landlords and partners. The 2016 Southern Region award winners were announced earlier this month, with the national awards to be held in July.

Higgins Construction and Pinnacle PSG’s education, training and employment programme has, in the last two years, directly resulted in more than 80 local residents securing a full-time or apprenticeship role, and has delivered more than 827 school engagement programmes.

Higgins Construction New Business Director Paul Cooke said: “Winning the Southern Region TPAS Award for Excellence in Contractor Engagement is extremely important to us and reinforces the commitment we have to the community at Myatts Field North Estate to provide work skills, training and create job opportunities.

“We work in partnership with a number of key stakeholders including London Borough of Lambeth, Pinnacle PSG, Rydon and E.ON to motivate residents and the local community to become involved in the regeneration of the area. Together, we are supporting the transformation that is taking place over our five year project so residents take pride and ownership of the community they live in.”

Executive Director of Pinnacle Group and Chairman of Regenter Myatts Field North Andrew Saunders said he was thrilled about the award:

“We are very proud of the work that we do, and are proud to receive such an iconic award for the hard effort that the staff and residents of Myatts Field North have all put in to develop this great community in Lambeth.”

“The training and employment programme at Myatts Field North has already seen unprecedented success, and we look forward to building on this by creating even more opportunities for local residents.”

Myatts Field North is an award-winning major regeneration project in Lambeth, which has delivered 808 new homes and 172 refurbished homes.
