The development is the construction of two five-storey blocks. Block A consists of a retail unit to the ground floor with 15 residential flats above, Block B consists of a community centre to the ground and first floor with 16 residential units above.
The site is located within a live urban residential area and adjoins the Richard Cobden Primary School. The location brings with it the usual issues of working on an inner London site.
To facilitate construction, we have had to utilise one of the school's playing courts for our site establishment and tower crane. To enable this we have provided temporary sports changing facilities, following the demolition of the existing facility, until the new community building is ready for use.
The project has a number of sustainable features, including photovoltaic panels on the roof and brown roof.
