Projects Infrastructure Analyst

Main Purpose
Ensure that the project workload is prioritised with the IS Technical Manager and the IS Director and completed in a timely manner within agreed targets. Maintain a relationship with the Business Users to ensure that Infrastructure and Systems are operational.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
* Ensure that the Infrastructure is operational (Security, WAN, LAN, Servers,
Backups, DR etc.)
* Work on IS projects to meet targets as agreed with management
* Ensure that project related documentation is in place and kept up to date
* Ensure that Business Systems Applications are operational
* Where appropriate provide second line telephone troubleshooting diagnosis and
support to the user base
* Work with third party suppliers as appropriate
* Instigate escalation procedures as appropriate
* Ensure that best practise and quality is maintained and delivered
* Keep any relative service calls up to date in the service desk system.
* Help with the control and management of Company IT assets, hardware and
software
* Working with the IS Service Desk Co-Ordinator ensure that system backups and DR
replication is functioning correctly
* Help to ensure that system documentation is kept up to date
* Pro-active in continuous changes taking place in the IT industry
* Other duties as agreed with the IS Director or the IS Technical Manager
Person Specification (Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Type)
Must Have:
Personal Skills
* Good verbal interpersonal skills
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work on their own initiative
* Tact and diplomacy, Customer Focused
Technical Knowledge/Skills
* Proven experience of implementing technical projects
* A good understanding of Cisco and Juniper Systems and Networks (WAN/LAN)
* Working knowledge of database technologies, e.g. Microsoft SQL, Progress etc.
* Experience of WWW technologies and development tools
* Virtualisation Technologies; VMware, Citrix.
* Active Directory design and management.
* Document Management Systems
* MCSE qualified
Desirable:
* ITIL foundation qualification
* Experienced and hands-on ability to support a Cisco and Juniper networked
environment
* Construction sector experience
